What is the feature of Bugatti?
Bugatti Chiron Features
The Bugatti Chiron is a Bugatti hypercar , which replaced the Bugatti Veyron in 2016. The Bugatti Chiron is characterized as the fastest vehicle in the world , being capable of exceeding 490 kilometers per hour . It is a revolutionary vehicle, more advanced in all its aspects than its predecessor, but without using hybrid technologies or groundbreaking construction. It has an impressive 8-liter W16 engine in a central position, with 1,500 hp , which allows it to do 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. The price of the Bugatti Chiron is 2.4 million euros and it is manufactured in the factory in Molsheim, France, practically by hand.
Among the hypercars that aspire to rival the Bugatti Chiron we find the Koenigsegg Regera . If you want to discover which are the most expensive cars on the market , do not miss our buying guide.
The exterior design of the Bugatti Chiron
It is a very low car, with a more aggressive and mature look than the Veyron. The side profile is a clear nod to machines like the Type 57 Atlantic , with classic shapes similar to a drop of water. Its huge rear diffuser seems to be inspired by a racing car, and it has a very characteristic lighting signature: a horizontal bar of LEDs – 1.6 meters wide.
Like the Veyron, it boasts active aerodynamics, with a spoiler that rises depending on the car’s aerodynamic needs , acting as a speedbrake .
Two-tone tones for a more aggressive and mature body, designed with aerodynamics in mind.
The interior design of the Bugatti Chiron
The interior of the Bugatti Chiron is very simple, minimalist , without leaving aside a quality finish at the highest level. The central console only groups the climate controls, in a thin carbon fiber bar, together with a conventional gear lever. The instrumentation of the Bugatti Chiron is simple, with an analogue speedometer in a central position , whose scale reaches up to 500 km/h.
On its sides, two TFT screens with information on the driving modes and infotainment, as well as the classic potentiometer, which reaches up to 1,500 CV . The steering wheel incorporates a selector for its different driving modes and a button dedicated to Launch Control.
Statement of intent: the speedometer scale reaches 500 km/h.
Bugatti Chiron engine: 8.0 W16 of 1,500 hp
The Bugatti Chiron is not an evolution of the Veyron. Although it uses an evolution of its 8.0 W16 engine, it is a completely new car , and like its predecessor, it establishes a solid technical dominance over its rivals. Its carbon fiber monocoque chassis is as rigid as an LMP1 Le Mans car. Its 8.0 W16 engine employs a new quadruple twin-scroll turbocharging system: the electric actuator for its turbos unleashes the system’s full power under intense acceleration. At a normal rate, we will only be using two of the four turbochargers. It has a new exhaust system, electronic management and carbon fiber intake.
It develops 1,500 hp at 6,700 rpm , accompanied by a devastating maximum torque of 1,600 Nm between 2,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm. Power goes to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox . Bugatti has partnered with Michelin for the development of the Chiron’s tires. Its special compound is capable of withstanding points above 400 km/h, with measurements of 355/25 R21 for the rear axle and 285/30 R20 for the front axle.
The Bugatti Chiron is not a light car: its weight is 1,995 kilos.
Braking equipment consists of eight-piston titanium calipers on the front axle, which embrace 420mm-diameter brake discs on the front axle. The Bugatti Chiron’s aerodynamics are active , with a variable height and angle rear wing. In its top speed mode, it has a minimum drag coefficient of 0.35 , which can increase to 0.59 with the speedbrake deployed. Its front optics channel air to the brakes, and the huge sculpted hole in its rear does two things: it vents the heat generated by the engine and provides stability at high speed.
How much is the Bugatti Chiron capable of reaching top speed? Not only does it manage to develop great speeds, but it is also an acceleration specialist, completing 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and does 0 to 300 km/h in 13.5 seconds . The Koenigsegg One:1 does 0 to 300 km/h in 11.9 seconds. The Bugatti Chiron has a top speed of 420 km/h, electronically limited for road use. In its “Handling” mode, intended for the circuit – with greater downforce – the Chiron’s tip is limited to 380 km/h.
Its Top Speed mode – which is activated using a special key – makes the most of its performance, reducing the aerodynamic coefficient in search of a higher tip. On the Ehra-Lessien test circuit, Bugatti broke the world speed record, exceeding 490 kilometers per hour in September 2019 .
Five advanced driving modes
Lift, Auto, Autobahn, Handling and Top Speed are its driving modes. Lift mode raises the suspension slightly and is used at speeds below 50 km/h, to lift the car onto a trailer or over a bump. Auto mode is self-explanatory, while Autobahn mode kicks in from 120km/h: it softens the suspension for relaxed high-speed cruising.
Top Speed mode is activated by a special key, in a closed circuit.
In Handling mode the whole car “tenses its muscles”, and is intended for use on the circuit. The aerodynamics favor downforce, and its permanent all-wheel drive system – with electronic differentials – will allow the car to slip, making it easier to steer . drifting .
Bugatti Chiron price: 2.4 million euros
The average Bugatti customer has 64 cars, three private jets and a yacht . A type of client with high purchasing power, who can afford an initial price of 2.4 million euros. The maintenance of the Chiron is expected to be prohibitive, at the height of the status of the car, as we have already seen with the Veyron. Production is limited to 500 units .
Bugatti Chiron Sport, one step further:
The proposal was clear: go one step further than the ‘conventional’ version of the Bugatti Chiron, all this if that adjective can be used to talk about a hypercar of these characteristics. The Chiron Sport was looking for even better dynamic behavior , with a weight reduction of 18 kg according to official data and a specific tuning that allowed it to enjoy an even sportier character. While the 8.0 W16 Quad-Turbo enginemaintains its 1,500 CV unperturbed, it has opted for the introduction of new stabilizer bars and the four-way exhaust system. There are no differences in pure speed, but it does make the team more effective against the clock on a circuit, pointing out that it would be up to 5 seconds faster than the original Bugatti Chiron on the Nardó track.
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, the “record hunter”:
The French firm was between eyebrows to beat the speed record, something that it would achieve with a radical version that would end up reaching production in a very limited series of 30 units (at 3.5 million euros each) of this Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ . Its aerodynamic configuration allowed it to reach 490 km/h on the Ehra-Lessien track . The aesthetic changes were evident, especially in a front designed to reduce drag, wheel arches to limit the turbulence produced and a reconfiguration of the rear area.with the aim of keeping the rear under control with a rear diffuser that extends by 25 cm and houses the exhaust system inherited from the Bugatti Cientodieci. Also included are new exclusively designed wheels with specific Michelin Sport Cup2 tyres.
Bugatti Chiron Sport “110 Ans”, Allons enfants de la Patrie:
Presented in 2019, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the year in which Ettore Bugatti founded the company, the Bugatti Chiron Sport “110 Ans” became the first special edition of the Chiron Sport. The powertrain was maintained, being the main changes in aesthetic matters, with the body completely bathed in a matte color called Steel Blue, black wheels, and the huge brake calipers and hubcaps, finished in French Racing Blue. Perhaps the most characteristic element is the back of the rear wing, which, when it acts as a speedbrake, becoming almost vertical, shows the French tricolor flag , in a nod to the country that the Bugatti Divo also complies with.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, the option for circuits:
Reinventing the concept. After the Chiron Sport presented improved driving characteristics, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport was looking to go one step further, with the premise of finding the ultimate French hypercar for track-days . Always preserving its homologation for driving on the street, Bugatti engineers have redesigned the Chiron’s technical package to bring the 8.0 W16 Quad-Turbo engine up to 1,500 HP of maximum power and 1,600 Nm of torque . The gearbox shortens its developments by 15%, which promises to improve the delivery of the engine to improve its response throughout the rev range.
A specific aerodynamic kit is added, as well as a set of Aero Blade rims that house the set of tires designed by Michelin for intensive use on the circuit. All the work carried out by the engineers translates into a reduction in the total weight of the set by 19 kilograms , something that, added to the suspension setting, helps to make it more effective when riding on the circuit. In total, a circulation of 60 units was planned with a price of 3 million euros before taxes.
